Differences Between Reptiles and Amphibians

Amphibians and reptiles are very similar but there are some differences between the two.

Amphibians:

  • Smooth skin
  • Webbed feet
  • Their eggs are covered with some sort of gel
  • They live both on land and in water
  • Their larval stages are spent in the water and their adulthood is spent on land.

Reptiles:
  • Skin is usually dry, hard, and scaly
  • They don't have webbed feet
  • Their eggs are covered with a hard protective shell
  • They live on land only
  • Both larval stages and adulthood are spent on land

There are more differences between the two but these are some of the key differences.
