Different types of leads- Anecdotal

A lead can be a sentence, paragraph, etc. but it is usually the first thing you read on a paper. This is meant to be the attention grabber and makes the reader want to stay and read the rest of it because their attention is grabbed.

One of these leads is the Anecdotal lead. An anecdote is a short story about something real or something that personally happened to someone. This type of lead can be used especially if you are writing about another person and what they've accomplished or what has happened to them.

An example of an anecdotal lead could be, "Imagine living in a small attic with a bunch of other people for 761 days as a growing child. That is exactly what Anne Frank did whilst she hid from the Nazis." Something along those lines would be the beginning of an anecdotal lead.
